Project Overview

Eric Primrose Reserve is located in Rydalmere, along the Parramatta River between Silverwater Bridge and Park Road. The reserve is well used by local residents and visitors for walking, cycling, picnics and recreation, with nearby sporting fields, picnic facilities, Rydalmere Wharf and public amenities.

Built in 2008, the existing playground sits between the sporting fields and picnic area. As part of Council’s Playground Replacement Program, we are planning a new playground for Eric Primrose Reserve that better meets the needs of the community. The proposed new location is closer to the public toilet, ferry wharf and picnic area, making it easier for families and visitors to access nearby facilities while enjoying the park. The new location also offers greater visibility and river views, helping create a more welcoming destination for people of all ages and abilities.

Before preparing a draft design, we would like to hear from the community about how the playground is used and the types of play opportunities and features that are important to you.

Proposed new location for the playground is approximately 350m from the current park.

I prefer the park name to be “Labor Park” instead of the three names provided previously.I’m not thrilled with the bland non-descriptive name “Factory Green.” While it may be intended as a nod to the site’s industrial & past recognising the site’s historical use will forever remind park users of the positive transformation of this land into a community green space.I honestly don’t like any of the names. They don’t have any real meaning.Could you please look into this and see what is causing it? We have to find and replace these with blank spaces when we prepare the reports.
